How to Make Animate Banners

Some day ago I have asked by my friend how to make animate banners? Some people use animated banners to promote their business via web or blog. To make animated banners is easy enough, you just need some tools like photoshop or other software.

  1. Calculate how many frames will be needed for your animation. For example, for a simple banner displaying a line of blinking text, only two frames would be necessary: one with the text on the chosen background and one with only the background.
  2. Create each frame as a separate picture, making sure that the image size is the same for each file.
  3. Save your files in the GIF format using the "Save" command located in the "File" menu of your program.
  4. Create a new picture in your graphics editing program, making sure to select an identical image size to the one used for your frames.
  5. Drag and drop your frames on top of the blank picture. Do this in the correct order, starting with the first frame of the animation and finishing with the last one.
  6. Preview your animated banner. You can do this in GIMP by clicking on the top menu and selecting "Image" and then choosing "Filters>Animation>Animation Playback." In Adobe Photoshop, the "Save For Web and Devices" option located in the "File" menu will allow you to preview your banner.
  7. Save your animated banner in the GIF format.
