  2. Navigate to the file or folder on your system you want to encrypt. Right-click the file or folder and select "Properties" from the menu.

  4. Check the box for "Encrypt contents to secure data." If you have chosen to encrypt a file, check the box for "Encrypt the file only."
  5. Click the radio button for "Apply changes to this folder only" or "Apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files."
  6. Click "OK" to save the encryption settings
